UNEEG™ medical has a core team of corporate officers and managers. Between them, the core team possesses high competencies within the areas of: neuroscience, diabetes, data analysis, medical device development, project management, regulatory affairs, clinical trials, sales and marketing.

The core team works in close collaboration with a large number of stakeholders, all of whom are in possession of critical insight within a specific discipline.

These stakeholders include: Scientific Advisory Boards, a number of participating hospitals, a technology network, and major business partners within design and production.


Torben Sandgren is Chief Executive Officer at UNEEG medical a/S which is a part of the Widex Group. He joined the company in 2018. Torben has a track record of driving growth and innovation in major global healthcare companies across a number of medical device specialities including diabetes, Parkinson Disease, Ostomy, Advanced Wound Care, Urology as well as a number of specialities within general surgery. Torben came from a position as Global Vice President, Sales, Marketing and R&D/IPR in ConvaTec Group Plc / Unomedical A/S. Prior to ConvaTec, he has held international leadership roles in Coloplast A/S and BP/Castrol Oil in Denmark and Austria. Torben holds a B. Com in Marketing Economics from Copenhagen Business School.
Rasmus Stig Jensen is Co-founder of UNEEG medical A/S and has been running the company as CEO until 2018, where he changed to a role focusing mainly on his passion for product development. Rasmus has approximately 25 years of experience in entrepreneurship and project management of large-scale, cross-border R&D projects and client/supplier contracts. Among those, Rasmus has 20 years of experience in line management and project portfolio management in large industrial companies such as Ansaldo and Alfa Laval. Rasmus has an educational background as Engineer from Aalborg University and L’Univercité de Technologie de Compiègne and holds among others a Graduate Certificate in Medical Device Regulatory Affairs and Business, from North Eastern University.
Henning Beck-Nielsen is Founder and shareholder, CMO and Vice-chair of the Board at UNEEG medical. Henning is a professor of Diabetes at University of Southern Denmark & University of Copenhagen. He is a trained diabetologist with a special interest in Hypoglycaemia. He previously headed Department of Endocrinology & the research unit at Odense University Hospital and he is as such an experienced scientist with more than 600 peer-reviewed publications. Henning is known and respected for his lifelong efforts in diabetes care and he was a major driver of the creation of the Danish Diabetes Academy, where he also resided as the first president.
Henning has received several scientific prizes and awards, among others the two most prestigious awards in Denmark, namely, the Hagedorn Prize and the Novo Nordisk Award. 
Richard Tøpholm is CTO at UNEEG medical. He has worked as an electrical engineer in various functions at Widex since 1992, covering Algorithm Design, 3D Scanner development, Building Automation and Energy Systems, Production Automation, Project Portfolio Management and more.
Since 2013 he has headed up the Widex EEG development team. Ultra long-term EEG has been an active development area at Widex since 2006 and was spun out into a separate business unit (T&W Engineering A/S, where Richard acts as CEO) under UNEEG medical in 2015. Richard has been on the Widex BoD since 2011, the UNEEG medical BoD since 2009 and Copenhagen Atomics BoD since 2018. He holds an MSc.E. in Electrical Engineering from DTU with focus on Applied Physics, Psycho Acoustics, Control Theory & Automation and Space & Satellite design.
Steen Hesthaven joined UNEEG medical A/S as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in 2018. Steen comes with 20 years of international commercial experience from the medical device industry within a broad range of specialities - including single use endoscopy, neurology, anaesthesia, ostomy and clinical microbiology. Before joining UNEEG, Steen held the position as Vice President, Corporate Marketing and member of the global management team at Ambu A/S. He has previously held international leadership positions in sales, marketing and product management at Coloplast A/S and AdvanDx A/S (later acquired by OpGen, Inc.).Steen holds a M.Sc. degree in International Business from Copenhagen Business School.
