UNEEG medical’s board of directors consists of representatives of the two owner families Tøpholm and Westermann, the founders, and others with particular specialisations. The board brings together solid experience from the life-science industry, and works toward unlocking the full potential of UNEEG medical’s ground-breaking brain technology in the years to come.

Søren Westermann
Chair of the board
Søren Westermann is Chair of the Board at UNEEG where he represents the Westermann family. Søren has been involved in R&D at Widex since the 1980s. For a number of years, he has been Director of Research, IP and IT at Widex and Vice Chair of the Board until the 2019 merger of Widex and Sivantos that created WS Audiology. Today, Søren is co-owner of T&W Medical and member of the Board of T&W Medical (owner of UNEEG). He was named 2020 Honorary Alumnus of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), in recognition of his substantial support for hearing research at DTU. Søren graduated from DTU in 1981 with an MSc degree in engineering.

Henrik Bender

Chief Financial Officer at Ambu A/S.
Henrik Bender is a seasoned business and transformation-oriented leader with extensive experience in M&A, finance, accounting, and strategy. He has held senior leadership roles in major corporations including Urban Partners, Widex/WSAudiology, A.P. Moller, and McKinsey. Currently, Henrik serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Ambu A/S and is also a standing board member in UNEEG Medical A/S, Adent A/S and Teach First Denmark. Henrik holds a MSc in Applied Economics and Finance from Copenhagen Business School.

Richard Tøpholm
Representing the Tøpholm family
Richard Tøpholm has been on the board of directors since 2009 and represents the Tøpholm family. He is CTO at T&W Engineering A/S, UNEEG medical’s sister company. Since 1992, Richard has worked as an electrical engineer in various functions at Widex. Since 2013 he has headed up the Widex EEG development team, which since it in 2015 was spun out into a separate business unit, has been co-located and worked closely together with UNEEG medical. Richard served on the Widex board from 2011-2019 until Widex A/S merged with Sivantos, forming sister company WS Audiology. He holds an MSc.E. in electrical engineering from DTU with a focus on applied physics, psycho-acoustics, control theory and automation, and space and satellite design.

Lars Nørgaard

CEO of T&W Medical A/S.
Lars Nørgaard is the CEO of T&W Medical A/S, a position he has held since 2015. With a background as a certified public accountant (CPA) and partner at Christensen Kjærulff from 2001 to 2015, Lars brings extensive financial expertise to his role. At T&W Medical, he oversees strategic initiatives of the family office. Lars is also the CEO of T&W Holding A/S and GSA Invest ApS, showcasing his leadership across multiple organizations.

Andreas Brock Midtgaard

Andreas Midtgaard has a strong background in investment banking, finance, strategy and leadership. Andreas has a Master's degree in Finance & Accounting from Copenhagen Business School and has accumulated extensive experience in investment banking, financial planning, strategy and leadership. Chief Financial Officer experience from Good Monday, Clerk.io and Right People Group. Merger & Acquisition experience from Dansk Merchant Capital, Carlsquare and PWC.

Henning Beck-Nielsen
Founder and Board Alternate
Henning Beck-Nielsen is a Professor of Diabetes at University of Southern Denmark & University of Copenhagen. He is a trained diabetologist with a special interest in hypoglycaemia. He previously headed the Department of Endocrinology and the research unit at Odense University Hospital. He is an experienced scientist with over 600 peer-reviewed publications. Henning is known and respected for his lifelong efforts in diabetes care and was a major driver in the creation of the Danish Diabetes Academy, which he also served as first president. Henning has received several scientific prizes and awards, among others the two most prestigious awards in Denmark, namely the Hagedorn Prize and the Novo Nordisk Award.
